Here are the two versions of the project
- the original 15/20 wpm version and the newer 5/12 Farnsworth version.
The latter still uses the Koch principle of introducing one character
at a time but uses faster code characters with larger gapping (a
la Farnsworth) to ensure the rhythmic quality of the received morse.
The two zip files contain the same files: a readme,
the .asm, .h and .pjt source files, a .hex PIC 16F84 target file
and the schematic and stripboard layouts at full A4 size (should
also print OK on US Letter paper). The source files are reasonably
well structured and well commented. Feel free to change anything
- I have no problems with anyone removing 'G0UKB' from the title
screen and replacing it with their own callsign. If you do have
any good mods to the code or good ideas then please let me know.
Currently I am not offering ready blown PICs - if
you want one email me at G0UKB@ivarc.org.uk
- no promises that I will ever offer such a service
but if enough folks as then I may. There will, of course, be a premium
charge for such a service!
That said, it is simple enough to blow PICs with
very simple (2 diodes, 4 resistors, 1 capacitor) programmers so
I encourage people to home brew a simple programmer and have a go
at blowing their own. I use a Ludipipo programmer with Pix Dos based
(works OK on Win98) software - go search the web if you are interested.
I will be putting a 'Getting Started with PICs' page on this site
shortly. |
