Many of our members are active builders. Members
have tackled kits ranging from Pixies to a K2. Many run home brew
antennas, both HF wire and VHF beam as well as several portable
antenna projects. A few home-brew from scratch also.
Peter (G3OFX) is a regular entrant in the G-QRP
Yeovil design contest. Several times runner-up he captured this
prestigious but elusive prize in 2001 with an ultra-sensitive
grid-dip meter.
Brian (G0UKB) is more interested in the digital
side particlularly programming PIC microcontrollers and has provided
a freeware handheld Koch Morse Tutor.
Brian has organised several club 'warm iron' evenings
where we built small one-evening project. Projects have included
- Battery voltage monitor
- FET continuity tester
- LED Xmas tree (including flashing
Merry Xmas in CW!)
- Audio Amplifier
- ZN414
